What are the dates of the camp?The camp will start on Monday, August 28th and will conclude on Saturday, September 2nd. It will consist of 6 full days.

Who is organizing the camp?The Climate Justice Camp is a product of co-creation and collaboration of local, regional and global groups. When will I find out if my application has been approved?We will be reviewing applications as they come in and will be prioritizing representation from the Middle East, Africa and the broader Global South. Given the volume of applications we receive we will prioritize communications with those who either have been selected or have been placed on the waitlist. If you do not hear from us by June 10th then that means we have reached the maximum of invitations.

How much will it cost or what am I expected to cover?Admission to the camp is free and the host organizations are covering accommodation, food and transportation within the country of Lebanon. Participants are asked to cover the costs of travel to Lebanon and any VISA-related costs (if needed). There may be some financing available to cover the cost of travel to Lebanon but this will be assessed based on need on a case-by-case basis.

How do I know if the Climate Justice Camp is right for me?The Climate Justice Camp is a platform for organizers and community builders to build relationships with other climate justice and intersectional advocates, to develop skills through daily workshops that can be applied in local work, to share best practices and lessons learnt from their local organizing and to co-create and collaborate on cross-region and cross-issue strategies and tactics. In short, it’s a space where organizers from the Global South and Frontline Communities come to build community and deepen their impact in the fight for Climate Justice.

When should I expect to travel?You should expect to travel the weekend prior to the camp commencement (August 26th-27th) and return on Sunday after the conclusion (September 3rd).

Who will be attending the camp?Attendees of the camp will be made up of organizers, advocates and campaigners from the Middle East, Africa and wider Global South, as well as some representatives from movements from around the world.

Who can attend the camp?People who are part of movements or local groups that are actively working towards achieving climate justice or making any difference in their communities towards achieving a more just and safe future for all.

What should I expect at the camp?The camp will be an opportunity to build relationships and networks; share stories and lessons learnt from the field; learn new skills through workshops and trainings, and collaborate on opportunities for creative mobilization.

When will I know the details of the program?The official program of the camp will be ready and distributed to those attending by mid-July. Invited participants will have the opportunity to pitch sessions or workshops they would like to run and we will do our best to fit them in the schedule.
